I just tried to register a blog under my own name... http://jimpivonka.blogger.com and found the name was taken! So I had to register by adding an "s" as in http://jimpivonkas.blogger.com
Now, did I register the first option in a previous life or state of consciousness? Or has another Jim Pivonka shown up in the Blogosphere?

And the answer is: Blogger was apparently slow to respond to my request for password help; after a long period it became clear that each of the blogs I established while attempting to establish only one were presend and accessible to me.
I'm inclined to the opinion that Blogger was excessively slow in reacting to new blog setups with the expected email confirmations, resulting in the impression that the new setup was lost, or that the password was not working.
